The Taylor Highway spans 160 miles from Tetlin Junction to Eagle, Alaska. The first half of the road is paved while the last part is gravel. During the winter months (October – April) the road is closed to traffic except snowmobiles.

The Taylor Highway was originally built in 1953 as a way to the towns of Chicken and Eagle, Alaska. About 96 miles from Tetlin Junction, this road connects to the Top of the World Highway.
